Periscope @meganfrau

from Instagram: http://ift.tt/1JpWhFm I’m on Periscope! Trying it out based on Kelly McKernan ‘s recommendation. Find me at the same username @meganfrau on periscope. I try to stream semi-regularly. It’s best to catch me through the notifications or you can follow me on twitter and I’ll push my streams through that site as well. The recorded streams only stick around for 24 hours, but it’s nice that you don’t have…

What Happened? Let’s Catch Up!

Hello! I’ve been taking a break from the blog this past semester, but now summer is here. I want to return to the original platform that started this all. While social media is fun and easy to use, the website brings a necessary focus back to my portfolio work. Not to mention that keeping up with 5-10 other sites gets a little exasperating. I’ll still update them, but the main website…

End of the year progress

I have been playing catch up the last few weeks. This semester was brutal on time and art productivity, but I am more than making up for it during the winter break. Next semester should prove to be more productive in the studio with lots of positive directions and goal making for the 2014 work year. Here is a small batch of the work I started in the last two…

Integrating Tumblr with minor issues.

I’m trying to integrate my Tumblr posts (the relevant ones anyway) for the main site with varying success. I apologize for any spam emails that stream to the subscribers of the site via email. It should be steady and normal after this. It’s my hope to make posting to the main site less tedious. Nowadays it’s so easy to keep up with Facebook, instagram, and tumblr, that I feel like…

Brand New Year

I’ve been working off and on the past two months starting new work started in the hopes that I can propose shows for galleries. I’m trying out new ideas with the current pieces I made and I have a series that I am researching and beginning my drawings and thumbnails images. That said, I will probably keep majority of the completed work unpublished until I have the series completed…

Summer Update: New Site, new artwork and some press

This news update has been long over due. I decided to put it off in favor of working more in my studio. Speaking of studio, I switched rooms to accommodate the space I needed to work. Things were getting cramp in my old studio room. Another task I finished over the summer was update the overall blog design. It’s all pretty and organized. I’ve been working on projects here and…

May News: Linearity

“Linearity” is a group show of works on paper by 25 local and international artists, curated by Kelly McKernan and hosted by MINT Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia.

“Linearity” is about linear relationships – what happens in the connection between point A and point B. The participating artists have visually interpreted this theme by personally defining the variables, the algorithm used, and the outcome of the correlation, and whether their works involve time, space, thought, ideas, human relationships, personal goals, or the daily grind.

March update

There’s not much to post, but I will show off two sketches that are a fraction of the images that I’m planning for Linearity. I’m creating two companion images that share a story of a relationship falling apart. There will be things falling apart, decaying or becoming gross in the rest of the image. Mostly, I’m just stoked to have dudes incorporated in my art again. They’re fun to draw. This week is spring break for me, I’m planning out thumbnails for other shows and then some. Also I would like to point out that I’ve been listing products of my older work on Society 6 along with my new drawings and mixed media. I have preview images of those below and later this week (or next month) I might have new products listed on Etsy.

February Update

It’s been awhile! As you can tell from the lack of updates, I’ve been busy. I have a bunch of new work I’ve been making for shows or show proposals and teaching takes up most of what is left. As a result, the blog is left somewhat neglected. It takes more time to format posts than adding a picture on the Facebook fan page (which you should join, hint hint)….
