Periscope @meganfrau

from Instagram: http://ift.tt/1JpWhFm I’m on Periscope! Trying it out based on Kelly McKernan ‘s recommendation. Find me at the same username @meganfrau on periscope. I try to stream semi-regularly. It’s best to catch me through the notifications or you can follow me on twitter and I’ll push my streams through that site as well. The recorded streams only stick around for 24 hours, but it’s nice that you don’t have…

The 100 Days Project

#The100DayProject #Day1

Ugh, do I dare? It started yesterday, but I could use another kick in the butt on my daily studio practice. A project I was considering for the near future was to create a small series of designs for print projects. Something that I could easily make alongside all my work and side projects. Alrighty, let’s do this and go nuts. I’ll be sure to compile posts here for a…

Teaching begins

I took a vacation and now I’m regretting the lack of work that was done. It will take a week or two before I get back to business with the website. Here’s my sadness work pile in the meantime.

Flashback Friday: Works in progress edition

I discovered an old post among my drafts that I never published. This was to be published around February of last year, but I suppose I forgot to set the entry from draft to publish. In the spirit of “Flashback Friday” (Throwback Thursday is more popular, but I schedule my blogsĀ on M/W/F), I will post this entry. I’m tempted to erase the old text, but I will italicize it instead…

Clean Studio, Fresh Start

My husband thinks I’m a slob. Thinks? Knows. It was a dirty secret I kept until marriage and then “SURPRISE! MESS!” I try to keep my chaotic living habits contained. Thus, the disaster is continuously cycling through my studio space. This usually lasts all semester until I have a long enough vacation to organize or have a clean freak break myself. Catch up: Teaching Highlights

I spend a lot of time after each semester writing notes and reflecting on the teaching experience. What works, what doesn’t, what needs some tweaking all gets written down as I unpack the semester experience. Then after some vacation time has passed and I’m ready to start planning with lengthy notes ready to aid me. Often times I focus on the negative as a result of being a relatively fresh…

Integrating Tumblr with minor issues.

I’m trying to integrate my Tumblr posts (the relevant ones anyway) for the main site with varying success. I apologize for any spam emails that stream to the subscribers of the site via email. It should be steady and normal after this. It’s my hope to make posting to the main site less tedious. Nowadays it’s so easy to keep up with Facebook, instagram, and tumblr, that I feel like…

Studio Graveyard: artworks that lead to nowhere

The stop and go of the studio makes it difficult to commit to finishing works. I have a feeling there’s going to be plenty of graveyard work-in-progress images. Here are possible works that have no expectation of making it to the finish line.

Hive 5: A Somewhat Quarterly Comics Anthology

This post has been long in the making. I got my copy in the mail sometime around Labor Day, but I’m just now collecting myself to write a post about it.

Here are photos on the cover design that Mark Leicht created with my illustration for the cover as well as a spread from my art buddy Cole Closser whose comic I enjoyed in the anthology.
