The last few weeks have been both busy and not at the same time. Both not interesting enough to report. I’ve been experimenting with collage on my old prints to hopefully take my art in a new direction, but didn’t get %100 awesome back from my mentor when she saw them. Blah. In any case it’s making me reevaluate and I’m not sure what to upload onto the site/blog. I’ll post what I like and if I canĀ  appreciated the others later, I’ll post the photos.

Graduate school is rough. You come in with all these aspirations of greatness and you immediately get knocked down. Repeatedly. It makes returning to the studio harder every time. You have to develop strategies to get out unscathed. Unfortunately I’m not as smart and also too stubborn. For example, I’m getting pretty sick of self portraits, but I have to wager what battles I can win if I suddenly change my pacing. It was more incidental when I started, but if I don’t change it now, I’ll be force to write a twenty-five page thesis.. on myself. GUH.

Outside of my artistic moping, I finally have a camera. A secondhand through family, the best kind because it’s free. The battery needs replacing however. It’s normally not a problem, but I still get perpetually lost in this town, so errands always take last priority. This will no doubt slow down posts that emphasize process. Just a heads up.

Last, but not least, there’s an interview (with an introduction) that I did for this blog. Hop to it!
